The Research subgroup of the JIC is committed to promoting the involvement of GP trainees and Junior GPS in primary care research. The Research Group:  

  • Works toward promoting principles of evidence based medicine both in the UK and internationally.
  • Works to provide an active network for young GP's and GP trainees in Europe interested in research in Primary Care.
  • Develop an online research forum to promote collaboration of junior researchers in multicentre projects both across the UK and with links across Europe through the VdGM Research Group. 
  • Facilitates setting up a national and international database for research projects open to trainees and young GPs across Europe.
  • Encourages GP trainees and young GPs to submit and publish research in the UK at international level.
  • Works towards incorporating research opportunities to the UK GP specialty training programs.
  • Participates in WONCA Europe Conference research workshops.
  • Maintains the JIC and VdGM Research web pages with up to date UK developments.
