Hello all,
At the WONCA congress 2009, we are going to do some research upon the image of the GP in different countries. You probably will be asked to fill in a questionnaire or you will get interviewed at the congress... What we want te know is how the image of the GP is in the various countries. We want to know how the image is among collegues, specialists and in the population. Which are the contributing factors to the image of the GP? For now, we wonder whether people know some articles or have other information, that we can use in the preparations of our research? To specify a bit more what we exactly want to know, I have some more detailed questions... To see what makes the image of GP's, the following items are important for us: - Do you probably have an overview what GP's earn compared to specialists in your country? (Or do you know where we can find it) - Do you know whether research has been done in your country about the satisfaction of patients regarded to the primary care/GP? - Do you have ideas what factors make the popularity of the GP in a country? Eg: what are the reasons to become a GP in your country? Do you think the quality of the education or the salary plays a role? How do specialists see the image of the GP? In Norway research has been done about the satisfaction of patients regarded to the primary care/GP- the results are presented in Norwegian...
Overall the public is very satisfied with their GP. Thomas |
